Its taken me a while to do this after taking a break post graduation, but here are my final pieces at my degree show...
Sara Rhiannon Brewer
Sara is a contemporary applied artist who creates three dimensional surface pieces. She takes her inspiration from environments and nature, focusing on worn surfaces. The surface is always there, just waiting to be discovered, and used to its full potential. It is this potential that draws her to the surface. Her aim is to take these so called eye sores and turn it into something aesthetically beautiful. She mainly works with paper, screen printing, layering and hand and machine cutting.

Still to come.....
With my watercolour prints i will be experimenting with laser engraving and I am currently working on my black and white imagery where i will be working both digitally and by hand which is vey exciting, so i will update you with my progress soon......
Exploring Print.....
I then wanted to explore other ways of reinterpreting the intinal imagery, so again i turned to a favourite of mine printmaking. With these particular set of prints i chose to work with open mash water colour printing, and i wanted to work on a much larger scale so i chose A1 paper. These were my outcomes:
I really like the subtle and delicate quality but at the same time how there is still a strong sense of colour and detail on both sets of prints. |

Experiments with drawings......
I then wanted to experiment with other ways of working with my initial drawings and paintings, main idea was to incorporate 3-dimensionality, light and shadows and a new sense of space and these were my outcomes:

Latest Project......
My previous project then led me onto my latest project; again i wanted to explore the surface especially worn surafces, but this time i was focused on natural surfaces and surfaces worn through natures elements, cycles and processes.
I started by visiting different environments and recording these types of surfaces through photography, here is just a small sample of the images. |
